BASICS OF ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY

Astrophotography is the term given to the art of photographing the night sky, and it's surprisingly easy. Join us and learn with MUBARAK “SHANU” MUHAMMADALI

 

Agenda:

• Introduction and general instructions/ precautions
• Equipment & Tools Setup
• Introduction to the night skies objects and constellations / in real time
• Shooting techniques and camera settings
• Shooting the Milky Way Galactic Core
• Different techniques and approaches for mixing the Milky way & the moon with landscapes.

 

What’s required to bring with – for participants:

Lecture: Camera & Tripod

 

GEAR:

• DSLR / Mirrorless Camera (interchangeable lens)
• a wide angle lens and/or (14,24,35,50,70,100,200)mm lens preferably with an aperture of F2.8 or lower
• a sturdy tripod
• fully charged battery + extra batteries + power banks
• head lamp(torch lights)
• Shutter release or an intervalometer will be very useful.

 

GENERAL REMARKS:

• Put on proper clothing / (full cloths including long sleeves / long pants / socks and sport shoes)
• Be mindful in using the torch light or flashlight as to not disturb the other photographers.
• Please make sure that your car has sufficient petrol – a full tank, ideally
• Please bring your own refreshments and snacks
• other items : Chair, ID, Tissues
